The Fulanis have fascinating traditions and customs. Anyone interested in visiting the Fulani area should first understand their customs. When most Nigerians travel outside the country, they follow the laws of the country they are visiting.

People who break or depart from the laws of the country are jailed. It’s critical to follow the rules that govern Fulani land. In this post, I’ll go through some of the taboos that should be avoided by everyone that visits Fulani land.

1. Christians are barred by religion from eating swine flesh since it is filthy; similarly, goat meat is forbidden in Fulani land. This is due to the belief that eating goat meat will make you a leper. Fulani farmers raise goats, but they are not allowed to eat the meat. Because they are cattle farmers, they get the majority of their meat from cows.

2. In Fulani Land, it is illegal to represent Mohammed in any form of art. This is against their Islamic faith, and anyone caught doing so will be severely punished. When Fulanis travel to other sections of the country, they are respectful of the local people’s traditions and beliefs. Disrespecting their own religion in their own country would be irresponsible.

3. Because of their religion, Fulani women are not permitted to dress inappropriately in public. Women who visit their villages should dress appropriately as well. Wearing unsuitable apparel might land you in trouble in some places. They should not, however, wear apparel that exposes a sensitive part of their body to their mosque.

4. Civilization is progressively undermining the valuable customs and traditions of Fulani land. Do you know that you are not expected to pronounce your partner’s name, the woman’s parent’s name, the father’s name, the in-name, the law’s or the mother’s name? Although it is technically illegal in their homeland, some portions of the Fulani territory have abandoned the practice due to modernization.
